Job summary

Temple Health is seeking a Laboratory Animal Technician to ensure humane care and treatment of laboratory animals. You will perform daily checks, administer treatments, maintain records, notify investigators, and monitor animal room conditions.

The role includes screening rodent colonies for pathogens, collecting samples for microbiology, serology, parasitology and PCR, and collecting tissue during necropsies. You will provide technical assistance to research laboratories on request.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• 1 year of experience in Biological Sciences is required.
• Experience with Filemaker Pro is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure humane care and treatment of laboratory animals; perform daily checks and administer treatments.
• Maintain records of sick animals and notify investigators and staff.
• Monitor animal room conditions related to health and well-being.
