University of Pennsylvania seeks a ULAR Laboratory Animal Assistant/Technician to provide humane care for laboratory animals, maintain housing and equipment, and assist scientists with basic tasks in a regulated facility.

The role requires a high school diploma, English proficiency, ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to work weekends/holidays. Pay ranges from $15.90 to $22.06 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; 0-1 year related experience preferred.
• Must read, write and comprehend English.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; explain problems and solutions.
• Service oriented and able to work as a team member.
• Able to repetitively lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize animal cages and equipment; operate sanitation equipment.
• Feed, water and change cages; report health or environmental issues to supervisor.
• Receive, house, and handle animals; document on-site tasks.
• Provide basic animal care training and assist scientists with simple problems.
