Job description

We are seeking an Animal Care Technician to join our dynamic team! This position will focus on overall animal care and welfare, production and selection for customer orders, facility upkeep, recordkeeping, and procedural duties. The person in this role should be passionate about working with animals, organized, and committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment. We are looking for someone hardworking, detail-oriented, proactive, team-oriented, and positive.

Responsibilities

1. Cares for animals, including feeding, cleaning, and breeding responsibilities.
2. Follows protocols to ensure the health and welfare of the animals.
3. Coordinates order details, including selection, packaging, and accuracy confirmation.
4. Keeps accurate records of breeding, feeding, cleaning, and care activities.
5. Maintains sanitation of animal buildings, cages, and support areas.

Qualifications

1. Animal care experience is highly preferred.
2. ALAT or related certification is desirable but not required.
3. Willing and able to handle lab animals.
4. Ability to follow sterile entry procedures and maintain a neat, clean, and safe environment.
5. Availability to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis, including alternate hours for shipments/imports.
6. Willingness to work overtime when needed.
7. Ability to understand and comply with confidentiality and privacy policies, and to protect company property and confidential information.
8. Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
9. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

This position may be offered at different levels depending on education and experience. Salary will be adjusted accordingly.
