Job description

We are seeking an Animal Care Technician to join our dynamic team! This position will focus on overall animal care and welfare, production and selection for customer orders, facility upkeep, recordkeeping, and procedural duties. The person in this role should be passionate about working with animals, organized, and committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment. We seek someone who is hardworking, detail-oriented, proactive, team-oriented, and positive.

Responsibilities

  1. Caring for animals, including feeding, cleaning, and breeding responsibilities.
  2. Following protocols to ensure the health and welfare of the animals.
  3. Coordinating order details such as selection, packaging, and verifying accuracy.
  4. Keeping accurate records of breeding, feeding, cleaning, and care activities.
  5. Maintaining sanitation of animal facilities, cages, and support areas.

Qualifications

  • Experience in animal care is highly preferred.
  • ALAT or related certification is desirable but not required.
  • Willing and able to handle laboratory animals.
  • Ability to follow sterile procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis, with flexible hours for shipments and imports.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to confidentiality, privacy rules, and protect company property.
  • Physical ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods.

*This position may be offered at different levels depending on education and experience. Salary will be adjusted accordingly to match the role level and the candidate's qualifications.
