Job summary

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience working with animals in a veterinary facility, research clinic or equivalent.
  • Associate’s degree in a Life Sciences or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ALAT certification preferred by the employer.
  • Ability to follow routine verbal or written instructions.
  • Knowledge of infection control standards and safety practices.
  • Experience with record-keeping and use of basic lab equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care for lab animals including feeding, watering and cleaning of animal areas.
  • Provide enrichment devices to animals as indicated.
  • Monitor animal health and behavior and report concerns.
  • Handle and transport animals safely and humanely.
  • Record environmental parameters and stock levels; report deviations.
