Job summary

Utah State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking an Academic Veterinary Technician I to support education, lead hands-on teaching labs, and assist with curriculum development and live animal experiences. You will mentor students, help deliver the clinical skills course series, and ensure high standards in lab safety and animal care.

Responsibilities include prep of SOPs and IACUC protocols, coordinating labs and simulations, and serving as a student club advisor.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Credentialed as a licensed, registered, or certified veterinary technician or eligible to become credentialed with at least 3 years’ experience.
• Successful passage of the VTNE or eligible to take the VTNE.

Responsibilities

• Clinical skills curriculum prep and development of SOPs and IACUC protocols (15%).
• Mentor and instruct students; deliver the clinical skills course series and provide feedback.
• Prepare, set up, and clean up labs; provide animal care for live teaching experiences and simulations.
