Job summary

Pfizer in Connecticut, Groton, seeks a Technical Specialist to perform basic husbandry, restraint and health surveillance of laboratory animals in compliance with regulations. You will help maintain animal supply inventory and provide basic technical assistance for research studies, including restraint and dose administration.

Weekend work and a shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM are required; this is an essential personnel role onsite.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required.
• 4 years' experience required (+certifications).
• Experience in pharmaceutical or lab settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine animal husbandry duties as directed.
• Observe and report animal health, intake, appearance and behavior.
• Provide basic veterinary support as prescribed by veterinary staff.
• Support cage wash equipment operations and maintenance.
• Assist researchers with basic technical services (restraint, dose administration).
• Work with all species housed at the site.
• Train and mentor new hires in animal husbandry and facility duties.
