Job summary

Pfizer's Groton, CT site is seeking a Technical Associate to support animal care in a regulated research setting. You will participate in husbandry, health surveillance and basic procedures to support studies while ensuring compliance with safety and ethics standards.

This role requires attentiveness, strong communication and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Weekend shifts and physical duties are part of the job, with comprehensive benefits and training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical setting.
• Familiarity with animal care and welfare regulations.
• Certifications as applicable.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proven problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with cage wash equipment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic husbandry, restraint and health surveillance of laboratory animals.
• Maintain inventory of animal supplies and equipment.
• Perform basic technical services (restraint, injections, blood collections) for studies.
• Train and mentor new hires in animal husbandry and facility duties.
• Follow USDA/GLP/AAALAC and other regulatory standards as applicable.
• Work with all species housed at the site.
