Job summary

GEL Laboratories, LLC in Charleston, SC is seeking a Laboratory Analyst in Training to join our General Chemistry Laboratory. The role involves conducting basic procedures that support other operations, operating standard lab instruments, and preparing lab ware while meeting productivity goals with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will have a BS in Chemistry or Biology, strong communication skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Office 365.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science, preferably in Chemistry or Biology.
• Laboratory experience preferred.
• Verbal and written communications skills.
• Experience operating basic laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Exhibits organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Regular schedule could include working one or both weekends, and start at 12 noon or 4 pm.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic procedures that support other operations in the laboratory.
• Perform login, sample management and disposal operations.
• Complete data entry activities, including initial data reduction, and initial data review.
• Prepare lab ware for procedures.
• Perform SOPs like aliquoting, and digestions.
• Operate basic laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Demonstrate and support GEL core values.

The Laboratory Analyst in Training is responsible for conducting basic procedures that support other operations in the laboratory. You must be able to work independently, meeting productivity goals, with minimal supervision. Analysts are trainedonvarious methods used in the lab and will progress as their skill set grows. The successful candidate will be agoodcommunicator,skilledin Microsoft Office 365 applications, and understand thebasic functions of achemistryor radiochemistry laboratory.

Working Environment & Physical Demands

This position requires working in a busy production laboratory successfully processing samples from around the world. Safety is a priority and negligence is not tolerated. Safety equipment is provided, and use is mandatory.
