Job summary

GEL Laboratories, LLC in Charleston, SC, part of The GEL Group, Inc., is seeking a Laboratory Analyst in Training to join our General Chemistry Laboratory team. You will conduct basic procedures supporting laboratory operations with minimal supervision.

Analysts are trained on methods used in the lab and will progress as skills grow; the position calls for strong communication, basic chemistry knowledge, and familiarity with Microsoft Office 365.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science, preferably in Chemistry or Biology.
• Laboratory experience preferred.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience operating basic laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Exhibits organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Regular schedule could include weekends and start times from 12 noon or 4 pm.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic procedures that support other operations in the laboratory.
• Perform login, sample management and disposal operations.
• Complete data entry activities, including initial data reduction and review.
• Prepare lab ware for procedures.
• Perform standard operating procedures such as aliquoting and digestions.
• Operate basic laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Demonstrate and support GEL core values.

GEL Laboratories,LLC, an affiliate of The GEL Group, Inc., is looking for a Laboratory Analyst in Training to join our team of professionals in our General Chemistry Laboratory in Charleston, SC. The Laboratory Analyst in Training is responsible for conducting basic procedures that support other operations in the laboratory. You must be able to work independently, meeting productivity goals, with minimal supervision. Analysts are trainedonvarious methods used in the lab and will progress as their skill set grows. The successful candidate will be agoodcommunicator,skilledin Microsoft Office 365 applications, and understand thebasic functions of achemistryor radiochemistry laboratory.

Working Environment & Physical Demands

This position requires working in a busy production laboratory successfully processing samples from around the world. Safety is a priority and negligence is not tolerated. Safety equipment is provided, and use is mandatory.
