Job summary

The GEL Group, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Analyst in Training to join our General Chemistry Laboratory in Charleston, SC. This entry-level role supports various basic procedures and will progress as skills grow, with strong communication and proficiency in MS Office 365 essential.

You will work independently toward productivity goals under minimal supervision, operating laboratory instrumentation and following established methods to ensure defensible data delivery to clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Biology preferred.
  • Laboratory experience preferred.
  • Verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Experience operating basic laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Regular schedule could include weekends; start times may be 12 noon or 4 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic procedures that support other operations in the laboratory.
  • Perform login, sample management and disposal operations.
  • Complete data entry, including initial data reduction and review.
  • Prepare lab ware for procedures.
  • Perform standard operating procedures such as aliquoting and digestions.
  • Operate basic laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Demonstrate GEL core values.

GEL Laboratories,LLC, an affiliate of The GEL Group, Inc., is looking for a Laboratory Analyst in Training to join our team of professionals in our General Chemistry Laboratory in Charleston, SC. The Laboratory Analyst in Training is responsible for conducting basic procedures that support other operations in the laboratory. You must be able to work independently, meeting productivity goals, with minimal supervision. Analysts are trainedonvarious methods used in the lab and will progress as their skill set grows. The successful candidate will be agoodcommunicator,skilledin Microsoft Office 365 applications, and understand thebasic functions of achemistryor radiochemistry laboratory.

Working Environment & Physical Demands

This position requires working in a busy production laboratory successfully processing samples from around the world. Safety is a priority and negligence is not tolerated. Safety equipment is provided, and use is mandatory.
