Job summary

Microbac Laboratories, Inc. in Baltimore, MD, is seeking an Analyst I to perform routine scientific tasks under close supervision in an accredited commercial laboratory.

You will follow established SOPs, prepare samples and standards, and operate analytical equipment to support client testing. Under supervision, you will record data accurately, maintain logs and equipment records, manage backlog, and support administrative duties in a fast-paced environment while upholding safety and quality

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; two years of related experience or a bachelor’s degree.
• Fundamental knowledge of laboratory principles, terminology and instrumentation.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a lab setting.
• Effective communication in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process samples and record information to support analytical testing needs.
• Prepare standards, solutions, reagents, media, and samples for analyses.
• Operate specialized laboratory equipment and perform setup as needed.
• Record observations and data accurately, with basic interpretation.
• Maintain logs, notebooks and equipment records for peer review.
• Address sample backlog issues and perform related admin tasks in LIMS.
• Follow safety and quality programs and SOPs; may assist management roles.
