Job summary

SGS is seeking a Laboratory Analyst for the Orlando, FL laboratory to join the General Chemistry team. The analyst will prepare and analyze samples with accuracy following SGS SOPs, working both independently and in a team to meet daily production targets, hold times, and turnaround times.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field with relevant laboratory experience, strong English communication, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

Associate Degree in Chemistry or similar field with 0–2 years in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories or 2 years in sample prep (Required).
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field with 1–2 years in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories (Preferred).
Proficient English language skills (Required).
Basic mathematical and reasoning skills (Required).
Basic computer skills (Required).
Ability to lift/carry/push/pull upwards of 25 lbs on a frequent basis (Required).

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze samples according to SGS SOPs using department-specific instrumentation and methodologies.
Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory instruments/equipment.
May assist with validation and MDL studies.
Assist with investigations and responses to client inquiries and CARs.
Input and maintain technical information to support laboratory functions/operations.
Maintain Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
