Job summary

Job Summary:

As a Laboratory Aide, you will collect samples from patients for laboratory screenings, maintain inventory, and distribute supplies as a member of the Clinical Laboratory team.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collects blood samples from neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in the laboratoryoutpatient service area, laboratory area, nursing floors, or in the emergency room
• Labels specimens and transports them to the laboratory for testing
• Prepares urine specimens
• Maintains inventory of supplies and notifies leadership when supplies are needed
• Assists in charting and filing laboratory slips, answers the telephone, and assists inmaintaining the laboratory in a clean and orderly condition

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent
