Job summary

ProMedica is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect specimens and perform testing while caring for patients before, during, and after collection. The role includes pre-analytic processing, QA-driven procedure improvements, and training of new associates.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent and either a phlebotomy diploma or 6 months of phlebotomy experience in a high-volume setting, with preferred professional registration (PBT ASCP).

You will perform pre-analytic tasks for sample preparation including centrifugation, decanting, specimen distribution and specimen packaging.In this role, you will use quality assurance data to enhance services and recommend changes in procedures to address quality issues and provide customer satisfaction.You are required to be familiar with test names and abbreviations and cross-referencing tests to specimen types. You will also be required to follow strict principles of asepsis and antisepsis and use your leadership skills to help train new associates or students.The above summary is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed in this role.
