Job summary

Consolidated Medical Bio-Analysis in Cypress, CA is seeking a detail-oriented Accessioner to join our clinical laboratory team. You will handle specimen receipt, processing, and data entry, ensuring accurate patient and test information.

Under supervision of licensed personnel, you will label, track, and prepare specimens, manage requisitions, and support clerical duties to keep the workflow efficient and compliant with laboratory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent per CLIA.
• 1+ year experience in medical laboratory, data entry, or related healthcare environment.
• Training in specimen labeling, handling, preservation, processing, and storage.
• Familiarity with medical lab terminology, workflows, standards, and LIS.
• Ability to follow written procedures and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, accession, and process laboratory specimens.
• Enter patient demographics, test orders, and diagnosis information into electronic systems.
• Process requisitions and specimens in pre-analytical and post-analytical phases under supervision.
• Identify and label specimens with assigned specimen numbers and maintain tracking.
• Maintain accuracy in data entry and ensure timely processing of information.
• Label, handle, preserve, transport, store, and dispose of specimens per protocol.
• Prepare send-out requisitions and specimens and manage daily tasks.
• Collaborate with specimen processors, data entry staff, couriers, and lab personnel.
• Prioritize daily tasks based on testing volume and operations needs.
• Assist with clerical duties and stocking supplies; maintain a clean, safe environment.
