Job summary

Roskam Foods is seeking a Labor Coordinator for our Grand Rapids location. This role focuses on creating and posting short-term schedules, ensuring union compliance, and coordinating temporary labor while collaborating with HR and production teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong Excel/Word skills, experience with Workday, and excellent communication. A high school diploma and manufacturing experience are preferred to support efficient, accurate labor planning.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Working knowledge of Workday HR platform.
• Ability to communicate and build relationships internally, across functions.
• High School diploma or equivalent; 3+ years in manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and post 24-hour/48-hour locked schedules.
• Schedule to comply with Union regulations.
• Monitor and communicate forecasted labor demand fluctuations to production and HR.
• Provide advance notice of labor shortages within one week.
• Coordinate temporary labor deployments.
• Attend daily planning sessions with BU supervisors.
• Work with HR on schedule conflicts resolution.
• Be accountable to KPIs for labor scheduling effectiveness.
• Make quick decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
