Are you a skilled Labor Relations professional with a passion for fostering positive workplace relationships? Our client is seeking a Labor Relations Specialist to join their HR team in a hybrid role based in downtown Chicago. This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing union relations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and supporting a collaborative work environment.

Labor Relations Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong relationships across the organization and collaborate with leadership to manage labor relations functions effectively
  • Address labor relations matters, including union grievances, conflict resolution, and collective bargaining negotiations
  • Act as a liaison between the company and labor unions, ensuring open communication and fostering productive relationships
  • Provide expert guidance on labor laws, union contracts, and workplace policies to ensure compliance and best practices
  • Conduct investigations into labor-related disputes and recommend appropriate resolutions
  • Assist in developing and implementing employee engagement and workplace effectiveness strategies
  • Support leadership in change management initiatives related to labor agreements or organizational adjustments
  • Partner with HR teams to ensure labor relations policies align with broader company goals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred
  • Proven experience in labor relations, including union negotiations and grievance handling
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and collective bargaining agreements
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with unions, employees, and management
