Job summary

Jobtailor in Baltimore, MD seeks a Labor Relations professional to lead the administration, interpretation, and communication of the collective bargaining agreement. You will act as a key liaison between HR, leadership and union representatives to foster collaboration and workforce stability.

You will guide contract language, manage grievances, and support negotiations with data-driven analysis, while ensuring compliance with NLRA, FLSA, FMLA, and EEO.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Labor Relations, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years HR experience with at least 3 years in labor/employee relations in a unionized environment.
  • Strong knowledge of labor law, grievance procedures, and collective bargaining.
  • Demonstrated experience advising leaders and resolving complex workplace issues.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • On-site availability for addressing labor relations issues.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main liaison between HR, leadership and union representatives.
  • Lead administration, interpretation, and communication of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Develop and implement labor relations strategies supporting goals and employee experience.
  • Provide guidance on contract language, grievance handling, discipline, and performance management.
  • Manage the full grievance process including investigation, documentation, and resolution recommendations.
  • Represent the company in grievance hearings, mediations, and arbitrations as needed.
  • Coach supervisors on contract-compliant policy application and corrective actions.
  • Support preparation for contract negotiations with data analysis, costing, proposals, and strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws (NLRA, FLSA, FMLA, EEO).
  • Partner with Legal and HR to mitigate risk and maintain documentation standards.
  • Support initiatives strengthening communication, trust, and engagement across the unionized workforce.
  • Mentor Labor Relations staff to build capability and bench strength.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience, including at least 3 years of labor relations or employee relations experience in a unionized environment
  • Strong knowledge of labor law, grievance procedures, and collective bargaining
  • Demonstrated experience advising leaders and resolving complex workplace issues
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to be on site any shift as required to address labor relations issues
