The role emphasizes pragmatic guidance, risk anticipation, and collaboration with Ethics & Compliance, Risk, and Operations to align legal strategy with business objectives.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar.
• 7+ years of labor & employment law experience, preferably with both law firm and in-house practice.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. employment and labor laws (Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA; NLRA/RLA).
• Experience leading or co-leading investigations, arbitrations, and agency proceedings (NLRB, EEOC).

Responsibilities

• Advise on labor and employment matters across the U.S. and Canada within a matrixed structure with HR and regional attorneys.
• Serve as the legal owner for elevated-risk employment matters and investigations, coordinating with Compliance.
• Provide compliant legal guidance on HR programs, ERISA, NLRA/RLA, and securities considerations.
• Deliver executive-level litigation reports, KPIs, trend analyses, and risk assessments for leadership.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, HR, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to shape strategy.
