Job summary

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is seeking an attorney in the Legal Division, Labor and Employment Field Unit to provide counsel on labor and employment laws and regulations, conduct investigations, and defend the FDIC in arbitration and litigation proceedings. Qualification requirements include a J.D.

or equivalent, active bar membership, and at least one year of specialized experience in labor relations and employment law.

Qualifications

• Education: All attorney and law clerk trainee positions have a minimum education requirement of a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) from a school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA).
• Bar Membership: All attorney positions require current active bar membership (valid license to practice law).
• Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in labor relations, employee relations, and personnel and employment law, including advising senior management and defending management decisions in administrative litigation.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on labor and employment laws and regulations.
• Conduct investigations related to labor and employment matters.
• Defend the FDIC in labor arbitration and employment litigation proceedings.
