The Harris County Attorney's Office in Houston seeks an attorney to join the Employment Division, focusing on labor and employment advice and related litigation for county departments and elected offices.

The role includes advising clients, handling discovery, depositions, and dispositive motions, and opportunities to participate in the telework program under the flexible hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing of the Texas State Bar; eligible for admission to Federal court.
• Excellent research, writing, and courtroom skills.
• Familiarity with applicable federal and state employment laws.
• Motion practice experience; experience conducting discovery.
• Ability to organize and prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.

Responsabilités

• First and second chair labor and employment litigation assignments.
• Represents parties in labor and employment litigation through intake to final judgment, including trials/appeals as needed.
• Advises clients on labor and employment matters.
• Manages all aspects of assigned litigation, including discovery, depositions, and dispositive motions.
• Remains current on caselaw and ethical obligations.
• Develops exhibits and witnesses for dispositive motions.
