Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Attorney, Labor & Employment for a full-service firm in Detroit, MI. The role involves handling employment-related litigation, discovery, and trial prep with support from partner-level attorneys.

The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of employment litigation experience, strong research/writing skills, and proficiency in discovery and deposition work. Admittance to the Michigan Bar is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years’ experience in employment related litigation and client counseling.
• Excellent research and writing skills.
• Proficient in discovery management and depositions.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough and high-quality legal research.
• Assist with discovery including drafting requests, responses, disclosures and witness prep.
• Prepare legal briefs and other pleadings.
• Work with partners to determine documents, production and vendors.
• Draft responses to EEOC and MDCR charges.
• Handle employment-related litigation tasks including hearings, mediations and depositions.
• Prepare trial materials and assist at pretrial, trial, and post-trial proceedings.
