Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment associate in Michigan with 2-4 years in employment litigation. You will conduct legal research, draft pleadings, manage discovery, and assist partners on document production and EEOC/MDCR responses. Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills are essential.

The role requires admission to the Michigan Bar or eligibility, with a full-service firm offering a robust benefits package and a collaborative environment in Ann Arbor.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years’ experience in employment related litigation and client counseling.
• Excellent research and writing skills.
• Good organizational and project management skills.
• Experience in managing discovery.
• Experience in taking and defending depositions.
• Proficient in online legal research and Westlaw.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in traditional labor matters is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough and high-quality legal research.
• Assist with discovery including drafting requests, responses, disclosures, and witness preparation.
• Prepare legal briefs and other pleadings.
• Work with partners to determine documents and production methods.
• Draft responses to EEOC and MDCR charges.
• Handle aspects of employment-related litigation such as hearings, mediations, and depositions.
• Prepare trial materials and assist at pretrial, trial, and post-trial proceedings.
