Job summary

UCLA Health seeks a Surgical Technician to provide technical support for all surgical procedures in the scrub role, preparing instrumentation and supplies and assisting with patient care. The position requires surgical tech certification, and BLS, with at least 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Tech program is required.
• Surgical Tech certification is required.
• BLS certification from ARC or AHA is required.
• One year of experience as Surgical Tech is required.
• Previous OBGYN and trauma surgery experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of operating room equipment and aseptic technique.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up instrumentation and supplies specific to a surgical case, and perform in the scrub role.
• Provide back-up administrative coverage for the unit, including answering phones and call lights.
• Assist with patient arrival and admission processes within the electronic health record (EHR).
• Float between UCLA Ronald Reagan and Santa Monica L&D units as needed with main responsibility to RRUCLA Perinatal Units.
