Job summary

WakeMed Health & Hospitals is seeking a Surgical Technician for Labor and Delivery to support the surgical team and patient care. Under supervision of a surgeon or RN, you will ensure the operating room remains safe, assist with triage, and help with instrument care on the Labor and Delivery deck.

Ideal candidates have a 3-year clinical background as a surgical technician and training in surgical technology; a graduate or associate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 years clinical experience as a Surgical Technician required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist preferred.
• Graduate Surgical Technology preferred / Military - Surgical Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patients in triage.
• Maintains safe operating room environment and checks equipment.
• Assists with breakdown and instrument care in the Labor and Delivery deck area.
