Qualifications

• RN license in state of practice required

Responsibilities

• Monitors maternal vital signs and fetal heart rate patterns during labor
• Administers medications per physician orders (oxytocin, pain management)
• Assists with vaginal deliveries and supports cesarean sections
• Provides immediate newborn assessment and care
• Educates patients and families on labor progress, pain management, and postpartum recovery
• Recognizes obstetric emergencies such as hemorrhage or fetal distress
