Job summary

CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, ND, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery. The role focuses on caring for laboring mothers, monitoring fetal well-being, and guiding families through childbirth.

You will collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and lactation consultants to ensure safe deliveries and smooth postpartum transitions, while adhering to hospital policies and high standards of care.

Qualifications

Nursing degree from an approved school of nursing.
At least two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience, or Mother/Baby/Postpartum considered.
Active RN license in North Dakota or compact state.
BLS and ACLS certifications within orientation and recertification as required.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care for laboring mothers and continuous fetal monitoring.
Develop and implement individualized obstetric care plans including vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and pain management.
Recognize obstetric emergencies and intervene promptly.
Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and lactation consultants.
Educate and support families through childbirth and postpartum care.
Document all labor and delivery care accurately per hospital policies.
