Job summary

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center in Round Rock, TX is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for the Labor and Delivery unit.

You will coordinate and provide patient care, conduct initial and ongoing assessments, develop individualized care plans, teach families, and facilitate discharge planning. You will document assessments, report changes to physicians or charge nurses, administer medications accurately, support the patient and family, and continuously evaluate and adjust the plan

Qualifications

• 2 years of clinical nursing experience in labor and delivery
• Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program
• BSN preferred
• Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License with TX license within 90 days of hire
• BLS certification required per policy; ACLS/ALS certification required per policy

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide patient care for all assigned patients in the L&D unit
• Conduct initial and ongoing assessment of patients and families and develop individualized care plans
• Provide family-centered patient teaching and discharge planning
• Document assessments and nursing interventions accurately
• Identify changes in patient condition and report promptly to physician or charge nurse
• Administer medications accurately and document administration
• Support interdisciplinary discharge planning and patient education
• Continuously evaluate and modify the plan of care based on patient responses
