Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN to provide comprehensive care for mothers and newborns before, during, and after childbirth. Role includes vital signs monitoring, medication administration, assisting deliveries, and coordinating with the care team.

The position requires an RN license with BSN preferred, BLS/ACLS/NRP within specified windows, and fetal monitoring certifications.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BSN degree preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current.
• ACLS certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• Basic Fetal monitoring within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate within 12 months.
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificate preferred.
• STABLE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maternal monitoring: check blood pressure, heart rate, temp, SpO2; watch for preeclampsia or infection.
• Labor support: assist with positioning, breathing techniques, comfort measures.
• IV therapy: start and maintain IVs for hydration, meds, or anesthesia.
• Patient advocacy: act as advocate during labor for birth plans or cultural needs.
• Newborn care: dry, warm, assess Apgar, cord clamping, prophylactic meds.
