Job summary

MEDEX STAFFING NETWORK LLC seeks a passionate Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team in Austin, TX. The role offers meaningful opportunities to impact patients during one of life’s most critical moments within a dedicated staffing network.

Requirements include Texas or compact RN license, 1–2 years L&D experience, BLS and NRP, with ACLS preferred. Expect collaboration with OB teams and ongoing professional growth in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or compact eligibility.
• 1–2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications.
• ACLS certification preferred; AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification a plus.
• Proficiency in electronic fetal monitoring and obstetric emergency response.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity labor and delivery environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess maternal and fetal status during labor using electronic fetal monitoring (EFM).
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and oxytocin per orders and protocols.
• Assist physicians and midwives during vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families throughout labor and delivery.
• Perform newborn assessments and initiate immediate postpartum care for mother and baby.
• Collaborate with OB physicians, anesthesiologists, and neonatologists.
• Document patient assessments and outcomes in the EMR system.
• Respond swiftly to obstetric emergencies such as shoulder dystocia or hemorrhage.
