Job summary

Northwell Health in New York seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery. You will apply the nursing process, coordinate care with physicians and the care team, and guide patients and families through evaluation, treatment and discharge planning.

Graduate from an accredited nursing program with NY RN licensure; BSN preferred and required within five years. 1+ year experience in Labor & Delivery is highly preferred; strong clinical judgment and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
• 1+ years of experience in Labor and Delivery/Antepartum preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess physiologic health status and conduct comprehensive assessments.
• Assess psychosocial health and identify patient education needs.
• Identify patient outcomes and establish individualized goals.
• Formulate and coordinate plan of care with the care team.
• Implement plan of care and document patient status and responses.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals as appropriate.
• Collaborate with Physicians and care team; delegate and supervise tasks as needed.
• Provide wound care and pressure ulcer management per protocol.
• Administer medications safely and educate patients about drug interactions.
• Participate in patient and family education to support self-management.
