Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an experienced Nursing Leader for the Labor & Delivery unit at our Boston campus. You will provide clinical leadership, coordinate nursing services, and partner with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

The role involves liaison across departments, staff coaching, and involvement in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations under the Nursing Director’s direction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
• RN license required., and BLS certification required.
• 3-5 years related work experience required and 0-1 years supervisory/management experience required.
• Demonstrated Leadership.
• Experience with computer systems including Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily department operations, including patient flow, acuity, staffing, throughput, and clinical priorities in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery environment.
• Serve as a clinical resource and support for nursing staff, promoting safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Support implementation of nursing practice standards, competency development, and clinical practice updates.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless coordination of care for laboring, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients.
• Under the direction of the Nursing Director, support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, staffing, payroll, performance evaluations, and employee relations processes for nursing and support staff.
• Participate in departmental quality, safety, and professional practice initiatives, including Faculty Hours and performance improvement efforts.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and operational support to staff, including coaching, performance management, and involvement in employment-related processes as appropriate.
