Job summary

ChristianaCare Newark Campus invites graduating students and new RN graduates to the Nurse Residency Open House for the Labor and Delivery program starting Spring 2027. The 26-week residency blends classroom and hands-on experiences across Labor & Delivery, PeriOp, OB High Risk and Antenatal, with preceptor-led clinicals to build competency and confidence.

Upon successful completion, participants are hired as staff nurses in the Labor and Delivery unit.

Qualifications

• Graduating from accredited nursing school before March 2027 (BSN Preferred).
• Delaware or Compact State RN licensure required before starting.
• BLS certification required for nursing practice.
• Less than 12 months experience from program start date.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured Nurse Residency with preceptor-led experiences.
• Rotate through Labor & Delivery, PeriOp, OB High Risk and Antenatal areas.
• Complete curriculum with lectures, simulations and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Commitment to pursuing a staff nurse role in the L&D unit after program completion.
