Mercy invites new graduate nurses to join the Labor & Birth Nurse Residency Program—a 16-week immersion designed to transition you from student to professional RN. You will work nights in a high-volume birth center, gaining mentorship, hands-on clinical experience, and confidence to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN License or eligibility for licensure in Missouri.
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (or obtained within 30 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based patient care.
• Develop and manage individualized patient care plans.
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changing patient conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams.
• Conduct bedside handoffs and patient safety reporting.
• Educate patients and families throughout their care journey.
• Utilize diagnostic, laboratory, and fetal monitoring data.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Support professional growth through ongoing education and certifications.
• Serve as a patient advocate while promoting exceptional outcomes.
