Job summary

You will collaborate with obstetricians, nurses and support staff to monitor patients, participate in deliveries, initiate routine orders, and perform rounds on postpartum floors, while adhering to protocols and policies.

Responsibilities

• Performs complete history and physical examination on new labor patients and documents admission notes.
• Monitors labor progress in collaboration with the attending physician and nursing staff.
• Participates in deliveries.
• Initiates routine orders in the labor and delivery suite and postpartum floor with physician countersignature.
• Makes daily rounds on postpartum floors with the attending physician or independently.
• Reviews protocols, policies and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
