Job summary

Medical City Plano is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator to oversee patient-centered care and nursing operations in the Labor & Delivery unit. You will collaborate with leadership to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care during shifts, ensuring adherence to policies and a high standard of outcomes.

The role emphasizes staff development, scheduling, and efficient throughput, with focus on teamwork, service recovery, and ongoing improvement of patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support is required.
• TX RN license or a compact license.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
• 2+ years of acute hospital experience.
• 1+ years RN leadership experience.
• 2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience.
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring training must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure throughput and high-quality care.
• Participate in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care in the unit.
• Collaborate with managers to create teamwork that supports better outcomes.
• Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
• Operationalize nursing strategies to improve engagement (e.g., rounds).
• Provide guidance on interviewing, training, and policy compliance; support performance evaluations and actions.
• Assist with staff scheduling and labor management.
• Support inventory control and supplies/equipment management.
