Universal Health Services seeks an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse for Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center in Washington, DC. This full-time night-shift role involves providing safe, competent obstetric nursing care, guiding families, and supporting the delivery team.

The ideal candidate will monitor vitals, administer medications, assist with epidurals, and participate in postpartum care. BSN preferred; BLS, ACLS, NRP required or scheduled; 1–2 years L&D experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current and active RN license in the applicable state.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required or obtained within designated timeframe.
• NRP certification required or obtained within designated timeframe.
• Fetal monitoring certification or demonstrated competency preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients during labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period.
• Assess maternal and fetal status through ongoing monitoring.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as ordered.
• Assist during vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and obstetric procedures.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and escalate care as needed.
• Educate patients and families on labor, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Support patients emotionally and advocate for birth plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments and interventions.
• Collaborate with OB, NICU, surgical teams, and lactation consultants.
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
