Job summary

Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center – Labor and Delivery is seeking a Charge Nurse to lead daily operations and ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements include at least 5 years in labor and delivery with OB triage/high-risk OB, 2–3 years leadership, BSN, Masters preferred, and OB RNC certification preferred. Schedule options include 5 eight-hour shifts or 4 ten-hour shifts; must be available for one late shift per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in labor and delivery, OB triage and high-risk OB.
• 2–3 years of leadership experience.
• BSN required; Masters preferred.
• Certification preferred: Inpatient OB RNC.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Charge Nurse, assign patient and non-patient care safely.
• Maintain staffing per policy and patient volume.
• Collaborate with physicians, management to ensure quality care and high patient satisfaction.
• Monitor census, acuity, staffing at set times.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with federal, state, city, IDPH and hospital policies.
• Promote patient safety and participate in safety initiatives.
• Support performance improvement plans and unit goals.
