Responsibilities

• Responsible for the daily operations of the assigned departments.
• Acts as a liaison between departments and coordinates daily activities.
• Evaluates and makes changes to daily nursing activities.
• Supports and provides feedback to staff.
• Supervises nursing and ancillary staff.
• Establishes staff work schedules.
• Works with Education Coordinator for employee orientation.
• Participates in Quality Improvement activities.
• Researches and implements assigned projects.
• Maintains compliance with hospital policies.
• Communicates hospital policies and objectives.
• Maintains adequate supplies and equipment.
• Coordinates admissions and discharges.
• Uses leadership principles to influence nursing practices.
• Collaboratively outlines solutions for nursing issues.
• Provides consultation in nursing expertise.
• Represents the department in local and regional organizations.

Education

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing

B.S. degree in nursing or allied health field
