Job summary

Attorney General & Dept of Law in Virginia Beach seeks an Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Civil Rights, Worker Protection Unit. The role involves enforcing labor laws, including paid sick leave and salary transparency, and handling complex civil litigation in state circuit courts.

The successful candidate will work closely with investigative staff, advise legislative partners, and coordinate with agency partners and stakeholders during the legislative session.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant litigation experience with a background in enforcing labor laws.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills are required.
• Must be admitted, or eligible for admission on motion, to the Virginia State Bar.

Responsibilities

• Enforce Virginia labor laws as part of the Worker Protection Unit (WPU), including paid sick leave and salary transparency.
• Litigation in state circuit courts; prepare and present complex civil cases before state circuit courts.
• Advise legislative partners and collaborate with state agency partners and other statewide stake holders during the legislative session.
