Job summary

Medical City McKinney, part of HCA Healthcare, Inc., is hiring for a full-time RN in Labor & Delivery for night shifts with rotating weekends. You will perform direct patient care, apply therapeutic communication, and maintain a safe, compassionate environment for newborns through adults.

Requirements include 2 years L&D experience, Texas (or compact) RN license, and BLS/ACLS within specified windows; NRP within 90 days. Competitive benefits and a strong team culture await.

Qualifications

• 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
• ACLS and BLS must be obtained within specified timelines after employment start date.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse license in Texas or compact state.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.
• Use therapeutic communication in daily practice.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Plan, implement and direct care using the nursing process with emphasis on patient needs.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families to aid informed healthcare decisions.
• Advocate for patients and educate patients/families throughout the continuum of care.

Job Summary and Qualifications

**Work schedule: Nights

• Performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act
• Use therapeutic communication in daily practice
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
• Plan, implement and direct care using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of the individual patient
• Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding healthcare
• Promote an environment that treats patients and families with dignity, respect and appreciation of their lifestyle, religion and culture
• Maintain quality, age specific care for newborn, pediatric, adolescent and adult patients as assigned
• Proactively advocate for patients and consistently education patients/families throughout the continuum of care
• Delegate tasks to the appropriate level of staff
• Provide supervision of new employees, vocational nurses, nurse assistants, student nurses, nurse externs/interns

What qualifications you will need:

• 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Registered Nurse in the state of Texas or compact state license
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing
