Job summary

Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA is seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our clinical team. The RN collaborates with obstetric, anesthesia and pediatric staff to protect, promote and optimize maternal and newborn health, while advocating for families throughout labor and delivery.

Requirements include GA RN license, associate or bachelor degree, and certifications such as ACLS, BLS, fetal monitoring and neonatal resuscitation. No travel is required.

Qualifications

• RN licensed and eligible to practice in Georgia
• ACLS, BLS, fetal monitoring and neonatal resuscitation certifications required within stated timeframes

Responsibilities

• Provide labor and delivery nursing care in collaboration with the health care team
• Protect, promote and optimize the health and well‑being of mothers and newborns
• Advocate for patients and families during labor, delivery and postpartum care
• Comply with hospital policies, professional standards and nursing philosophy

Job Summary and Qualifications:

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) works in collaboration with other members of the health care team to protect, promote and optimize health and ability, prevent illness and injury, alleviate suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocate in the care of individuals and families. The professional registered nurse (RN) incorporates creative factors from Watson’s theory into his/her practice. Practices in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, Georgia Nurse Practice Act, Professional Standards, Code of Ethics for Nursing, and the institution’s nursing philosophy, Professional Practice Model. Complies with the Memorial Health Compliance Program, related policies and procedures and the Code of Business Practices; reports instances of perceived and actual non-compliance to Team Leader or through other reporting mechanisms.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring must be obtained within 4 months of employment start date
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
