Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Baltimore, MD. The RN will provide care in the L&D setting, apply nursing process, and support mothers through labor and post-delivery care.

Requirements include an active RN license in the state, CPR, and current health certificate; L&D experience preferred and RNC-OB preferred. We offer competitive pay, weekly paychecks, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• One year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last three years preferred.
• RNC-OB preferred.

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing process and deliver patient care in the L&D setting.
• Make clinical judgments with supervision.
• Support mothers during the final stages of pregnancy and monitor vitals.
• Educate patients and address psychosocial needs after delivery.
• Coordinate patient care and assist others in managing care.

The Labor and Delivery Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in the L&D Setting. The Labor and Delivery Nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with supervision.

The Labor and Delivery Nurse works with Mothers during the final stages of pregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the Mother’s vitalsigns, and becoming astute in signs and symptoms of possible complications. The Labor and Delivery Nurse is involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs of Mothers after delivery and demonstrates critical thinking and performanceability in the coordination of patient care. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.

• Current Registered Nurse license within the state of practice
• One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience within the last three years preferred
• RNC-OB Preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
