Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care and maintain a safe therapeutic environment.

The role emphasizes therapeutic communication, individualized patient care, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced labor and delivery unit. Responsibilities include nursing process documentation, adherence to care standards, and supporting performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• RN degree from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (BSN or ASN).
• 1 year of RN experience.
• Labor and Delivery experience required for PRN.
• BLS.
• ACLS required within 6 months.
• NRP required within 6 months.
• AWHONN basics within one year.
• CPI training & certification within 6 months.
• Current Tennessee Board of Nursing license or Compact State license.

Responsibilities

• Utilize therapeutic communication in daily practice to maintain a safe environment.
• Demonstrate age-specific knowledge of human growth and development and patient care.
• Ensure patient privacy and PHI confidentiality.
• Use the nursing process for individualized care and document care.
• Demonstrate technical skills, follow procedures, and employ critical thinking.
• Provide care and coordinate participation to support the hospital mission.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Labor and Delivery Nurse

The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice.Maintains a safe therapeutic environment. Identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care while utilizing an interdisciplinary approach. Participates in performance improvement activities.Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.

When acting in charge nurse role, registered nurses are responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment. Make staff assignments based on patient need, acuity and the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinical resource for the staff. Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues.

What qualifications you will need:

• Your degree from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (B.S. or A.S.).
• 1 year of RN experience.
• Labor and Delivery experience required for PRN.
• BLS.
• ACLSRequiredwithin 6 months.
• NRPRequiredwithin 6 months.
• AWHONN basic,intermediateand advanced within one year.
• CPI Training & Certificationrequiredwithin 6 months.
• Current licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or Compact State.
