Job summary

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna, TN seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery. You will provide direct patient care, use therapeutic communication, and maintain a safe environment while coordinating with an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements include a nursing degree (BSN/ASN), 1 year RN experience, and certifications (BLS, ACLS/NRP within 6 months, CPI within 6 months). Licensure in TN or a compact state is required.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (BSN or ASN).
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Labor and Delivery experience preferred.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS within 6 months.
• NRP within 6 months.
• AWHONN basic, intermediate and advanced within one year.
• CPI Training & Certification within 6 months.
• Current licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or Compact State.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the RN scope.
• Utilize therapeutic communication in daily practice.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients.
• Document nursing care using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs.
• Support performance improvement activities aligned with hospital goals.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice. Maintains a safe therapeutic environment. Identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care while utilizing an interdisciplinary approach. Participates in performance improvement activities. Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.

What you will do in this role:

• You will utilize therapeutic communication in daily practice, maintains a safe therapeutic environment, and identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient.
• You must demonstrate age specific knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment and care of patients.
• Ensuring the privacy of our patients and confidentiality of their Protected Health Information (PHI) is core to your role.
• You will utilize the nursing process for individual care to meet needs of patients and document all patient care.
• Your role demonstrates the ability to perform technical skills, follow procedures, and show critical thinking.
• You will provide care and coordinate participation that fosters the goals of the hospitals mission and vision statement.

What qualifications you will need:
