Job summary

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is seeking a Labor and Delivery Nurse to provide direct patient care within the RN scope of practice. The role requires adapting to acute patient needs, with emphasis on therapeutic communication and a safe, therapeutic environment.

Qualified candidates have a nursing degree (BSN/AS), 1 year of RN experience, and L&D experience is highly preferred. Certifications (BLS, ACLS within 6 months, NRP within 6 months, CPI within 6 months) and TN licensure or

Labor and Delivery Nurse

The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice.Maintains a safe therapeutic environment.Identifiesnursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care whileutilizingan interdisciplinary approach.Participates in performance improvement activities.Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.

When acting inchargenurserole, registered nursesare responsible forday-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment.Make staff assignments based on patient need,acuityand the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinical resource for the staff.Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues.

  • Your roledemonstratesthe ability to perform technical skills, follow procedures, and show critical thinking.

  • You will provide care and coordinate participation that fosters the goals of the hospital's mission and vision statement.

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is a 159-bed facility providing quality healthcare to Sumner and surrounding counties for more than 45 years. The facility is the first Accredited Chest Pain Center in Sumner County, a Certified Primary Stroke Center and a designated Level III Trauma Center. The Birth Center at TriStar Hendersonville features a six-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), spacious maternity suites and a lactation boutique for inpatient and outpatient breastfeeding services.
