Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a Payroll/ Labor Analyst to perform payroll and labor-related financial functions in a fast-paced environment. You will interact with all employee and management levels, HR, agencies, and third-party providers to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The role involves weekly labor close, audit support, and data analysis, with weekend/overtime hours as needed to meet deadlines. Strong detail orientation and confidentiality are essential.

Job description

This position is responsible for performing payroll and labor related financial functions. The ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, while maintaining a strong attention to detail and accuracy is a must. This position will require interaction with all employee and management levels as well as frequent interaction with Human Resources, various agencies, and third-party providers.

Some, but not all, specific tasks to be performed are as follows:

• Analyze labor to payroll activity to identify and resolve variances
• Assist in weekly labor closing activities
• Provide audit support through interaction with government and commercial audit agencies
• Assist with internal audits conducted by Electric Boat
• Perform quality checks to ensure accurate processing and adherence to company policy
• Interact with all levels of management to resolve any policy divergences

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor of Science degree in accounting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Reporting and data analysis experience
• Some weekend and overtime hours to support weekly processing deadlines

Preferred

• 2+ years of Timekeeping and/or Payroll processing experience
• Experience working with mainframe based financial systems
• PeopleSoft experience
• Prior experience working with multiple pay groups / collective bargaining units
• Microsoft Office Suite
