Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking a Labor Accountant to support payroll and labor related financial functions in a fast paced environment. The role requires interaction across employee and management levels, HR, and external agencies.

You'll analyze labor to payroll activity, assist weekly labor close, provide audit support, and perform quality checks to ensure policy compliance. Weekend/overtime hours may be required to meet deadlines, and experience with payroll

Qualifications

Overview

This position is responsible for performing payroll and labor related financial functions. The ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, while maintaining a strong attention to detail and accuracy is a must. This position will require interaction with all employee and management levels as well as frequent interaction with Human Resources, various agencies, and third-party providers.

Some, but not all, specific tasks to be performed are as follows:

• Analyze labor to payroll activity to identify and resolve variances
• Assist in weekly labor closing activities
• Provide audit support through interaction with government and commercial audit agencies
• Assist with internal audits conducted by Electric Boat
• Perform quality checks to ensure accurate processing and adherence to company policy
• Interact with all levels of management to resolve any policy divergences
