Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Queens is seeking a Lab Technologist - Chemistry for a full-time evening shift. You will conduct automated and manual tests to support diagnostic and therapeutic decisions in a 24-hour laboratory environment.

Responsibilities include STAT and routine testing with strict quality controls. Requires NYS licensure, a Bachelor's in Medical Technology, and at least two years of lab experience; new grads are welcome.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology is required.
• Current Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York State Education Department is required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a clinical laboratory setting; new grads are welcome to apply.
• Board certification (ASCP or NCA) is preferred.

Position Title & Schedule

Lab Technologist - Chemistry | Full-Time, Evenings 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, with alternating weekends

The schedule follows a rotating 2-week pattern:

• Week 1: Work Sunday through Thursday, off Friday and Saturday.
• Week 2: Off Sunday and Monday, work Tuesday through Saturday.

Job Responsibilities

As a Lab Technologist, you will conduct a variety of automated and manual tests, alongside related duties, to gather data for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

• You will also perform both STAT and routine testing in an accurate and timely manner.
• Your keen attention to detail will be essential as you help meet quality control standards and troubleshoot instrument issues.

Our labs utilize the Meditech lab information system for data entry and testing performance.

Preferred Criteria

• Board certification (ASCP or NCA)

Required Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology
• Current Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York State Education Department
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a clinical laboratory setting, but new grads are welcome to apply.
• Excellent judgment, communication, computer, troubleshooting, organization and prioritization skills a must.

Salary Range: $52.61-$65.45/Hourly
